Danny McNeill from East Kilbride passed away on January 31st in Hairmyres Hospital. Danny was 53 when he passed. He is greatly missed by His wonderful wife Joyce, his daughters Kirsty and Jennifer, His parents, Dennis and Margaret and his brothers and sisters, Denise, Karen, Frazer and David and his 7 grandchildren.

Danny ran his own business for many years as a piano teacher and encouraged many people to be inpired by music. He gave himself early retiral due to his increasingly poor health due to pancreatitis.

Music was his first love and Danny had two musicals based on the Crucifiction(Action) and Nativity(Josephs Boy) stories published in the mid nineteen eighties. He also composed his own songs and was an extremely talented musician. His second musical Josephs Boy was recorded to CD in 1998.

Danny was my Dad, my best friend, my mentor, sometimes the biggest pain in my neck but always a true and solid constant in my life. He and my Mum made a great team and have given me all the encouragement and backing anyone could wish for.
I learned to love music from a very early age and we would often had quite heated debates about what "good" music is. I used to love winding him up about the Beatles(he was a massive fan). He used to get so annoyed that I preffered the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
My Dad was a keen amateur photographer and artist and biased as I may be, he was the best at all he did.
It was in his nature to excel at everything he did. A virtue he tried to instill in me but unfortunately I am decidedly lacking in the patience department.
He was a lovely, kind, quiet man who was loved my hundreds of people.
It is very difficult for me to sum up what my Dad meant to me and to surmise it in words. The easiest thing to say is that my Dad passing has left a huge void in my life. I miss him terribly every single day and his absence is obvious and painful.

I love my Dad with all my heart and soul and wish I could have just one more day to talk to him. I feel his presence around me every day and I am comforted that my best friend is safe under the guardianship of the angels.

No words can ease the sorrow of losing a loved one, no actions can help you cope, but rest assured I'll do anything in my power to offer support to Joyce, Kirsty and Jennifer.

Since losing my mum on 23rd February 2007, life has changed so much but although the massive space in my lfe will never be filled I know that I have to go on to make my mum proud.

Days pass and we carry on with our lives but the pain and hurt never go away, Danny I hope that you are at peace now and able to relax and enjoy your music... you are a true inspiration.

You have a wonderful family to be proud of and I know they are proud of you for everything you have achieved. Stay strong and you will one day be back with your family again, until then I know you will be watching over them.

Rest in peace Danny... all of our love, Laura & Gordon xxx
